Japan Piano Teacher Association Releases English Report on 2008 Activities
The Piano Teachers National Association of Japan (PTNA) has released a newsletter in English summarizing its members activities in 2008. The PTNA has about 12,500 members, of whom 11,000 are piano teachers. Piano competitions held in 2008 by the organization drew 40,000 participants.

From the newsletter's table of contents:
# Piano Teachers Appear on Stage – 150% increase in 3 years
# Teachers do not live in an ivory tower. They appear on stage, express themselves, are evaluated and have fun with students; these are the new way for them to develop teaching skills.
