Mr. Ryouhei Hirose, a composer of extraordinary breadth whose works ranged through orchestral, choral, and chamber pieces, including contemporary music for traditional Japanese instruments and scores for television and radio, passed away on November 24. The cause of death was liver failure. He was 78 years old.

Funeral services will be held for family members only. A memorial service is scheduled at a later date.
