MPs Seek Better Arts/Culture Policy
The Parliamentary Music Members' League, a non-partisan organization of Diet (national assembly) members, held a general meeting on November 20 to consider legislation on the stationing of theater technicians at Japan's 2,800 concert halls, withholding taxes imposed on foreign artists appearing in Japan and copyright issues.

The league is chaired by Hakuo Yanagisawa (LDP, lower house), with Toshitsugu Saito (LDP, lower house) serving as secretary-general.
