The 4th Sendai International Music Competition
The Sendai Cultural Foundation announced the details of the 4th Sendai International Music Competition. The application deadline is October 1, 2009

Violin Section: May 22 - June 6, 2010 / Piano Section: June 13 - June 27, 2010
Eligibility
Born on or after January 1, 1982 (Open to musicians of all nationalities)
Prizes
1st prize: 3,000,000 Japanese Yen / CD Production / Concerts with orchestra and recitals in various cities in Japan

•Characteristics of Sendai International Music Competition
Repertoire focusing on Concertos
Contestants are required to perform concertos along with an orchestra in the Semifinal and Final Rounds.


Big prizes and ongoing active support to the 1st prizewinners
One of the big characteristics of the Competition is that it awards large amounts of prize money. For example it awards a cash prize of 3,000,000 Japanese yen to the first place winner of each section.
Another attractive characteristic of the competition is that the organizer actively assists the career development of the first prizewinners by giving them performance opportunities for three years.
