Suntory Hall Presents "Rainbow 21 International -- Debut Concert, 2008"
students of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama
Suntory Hall in Tokyo will present "Rainbow 21 International," a "debut concert" for students of the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 14:00 at the Suntory Hall "Blue Rose" recital (small) hall.

The concert represents a valuable opportunity for young students, offered in recognition of their work to become professional musicians. The debut concert series project was launched in 1996 by students themselves. Since 2004, Suntory Hall has been giving selected students opportunities to produce their own concerts. This approach allows them to give full rein to their passions and artistic sense, while at the same time learning the business of organizing concerts, all with the backing of a major concert hall.

This series is the only one of its kind. Having scored successes for the first four years of its existence, this year it is reaching out to students from other countries.

students of the Royal Academy of Music
For this year's "Rainbow 21 International," students of the Royal Academy of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama will be coming from the United Kingdom to Tokyo to perform. Both these prestigious schools have produced many important professional musicians, and talented young people from all over the world study there to follow the same dream. Many of their students start professional careers while still at school. Participants in the Suntory Hall concert have formed a special ensemble consisting of students from both schools and put together an enchanting program. The joint performance by the two schools will be a historical first for them. In addition to the public concert, a special joint concert by UK and Japanese students and a discussion session are planned. These students share intense energy and dedication to communicating through music, which is a sure formula for captivating audiences.
