Hibiki Tamura (20) wins Long-Thibaud International Piano Competition
The final results of the Long-Thibaud International Piano Competition (held in Paris, France from October 20) was announced on the evening of October 28. The only Japanese finalist, Hibiki Tamura(age:20) won the First Prize.
Hibiki Tamura was born on December 15, 1986. A native of Anjo City (Aichi prefecture), he was the Grand Prize Winner of the PTNA Piano Competition (superior grade), as well as the first prize winner of the 18th Takahiro Sonoda Piano Competition. He received the “Arion Prize” in 2003, and the 16th Idemitsu Music Award in 2006. Tamura is currently studying at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.
Tamura will be performing at the Gala Concert (Salle Pleyel) of the Competition at 7:30 p.m., October 30 (local time).
