Mr. Shunji Aratani, the chairman of the Nippon Conductors' Association, turned seventy-seven on April 1 of this year. In honor of his many accomplishments, not only in relation to the association and classical music in general, but in Japanese music as well, and in recognition of his dedicated community work that has made great music easily accessible to numerous people, the association will host the following celebration:
