Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall presenting four chamber music concerts in 2006
Chikara Imamura
Wiener Geigen Quartet (Vienna Violin Quartet)
The Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall, located in Kawasaki, Japan, opened in July 2004. It has a total seating capacity of 1987 and has been attracting the attention of music lovers for its excellent acoustics. It has been developing a unique approach in terms of a wide variety of types of performance.

This year the hall has launched a new chamber music series.

Small or medium-sized venues are generally believed to be suitable for chamber music concerts. However at Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall, with its 'vineyard style' seating arrangements and an open stage, the audience is able to feel an intimate connection with the musicians as well as being able to hear each instrument with perfect clarity.

The first artists in the series were the "Wiener Geigen Quartet (Vienna Violin Quartet)", which gave a concert on November 18. The program featured charming waltzes and polkas, and the quartet gave a profound interpretation of each piece - to the great appreciation of the audience. The concert was a considerable success.
