The 2006 FACP meeting was convened September 22 -24 in the Chinese city of Wulumuchi (Urumchi), with 60 participants from many Asian countries.
 Famed as the entranceway to the Silk Road, Wulumuchi (Urumchi) is developing as a modern center for tourism.
 The meeting featured reports on China's cultural policies, the state of performing arts in China today, panel discussions on such themes as "The Fine Line Between Culture and Entertainment" and enthusiastic discussions on subjects that indicated strong commitments to development of entertainment as an industry by the countries represented.
