Yuko Mori to receive the honourable title of "Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres"
Following the 'Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres' which Yuko Mori received in 1991, she has now also received the "Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" from the Government of France.

Yuko Mori, having taught at the Conservatoire National Supèrieur de Musique de Lyon as their Associate Professor between 1989-1996, she now holds the position as the Professor at the Chicago College of Performing Arts of Roosevelt University since 1999. Since 1988, she is the music director of the "Kyoto Academy of French Music" where many distinguished French teachers and musicians are invited to work together every year. Based on her long and many experiences as an orchestra player between 1977-1987 (with L'Orchestre de Chambre Jean-François Paillard, La Grande Virtuoses Ecurie et la Chambre du Roy, and Nouvel Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France) she has founded the "Nagaokakyo Chamber Ensemble" in 1997, and has managed to build it to a level of international calibre. Yuko Mori's devotion to spreading of the Musical Arts based on the French Music Tradition, as well as the anticipation to further developments in this area, have led the cause to the presentation of this distinguished award 'Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres'. At the Award Presentation Ceremony, Yuko Mori announced that at the 'Kyoto Academy of French Music' where it will celebrate its 15th year next year, there are plans for a new development to include the baroque style in collaboration with conductor Philippe Herreweghe.
