The career of Michiyoshi Inoue literally spans the globe. In addition to frequent conducting engagements with virtually every major orchestra in Japan, this artist is regularly invited to Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Russia, as well as the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Mr. Inoue's professional career began with the post of Associate Conductor for the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in 1970. Then, his first prize at the 1971 Guido Cantelli Conducting Competition in Milan brought him to the attention of the press, and he has been a familiar face on podiums the world over ever since. MICHIYOSHI Inoue assumed the role of Principal Guest Conductor with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in 1977. The year after leaving that post in 1982, he took the appointment of Music Director with Tokyo's New Japan Philharmonic, where he remained until 1988. Inoue worked with Munich philharmony,Chikago Symphony., and in Germany, Berlin,Hamburg,Stuttgart,BadenBaden,Cologne,Dresden Philhharmony and Orchestra National de France,Scala Philharmony,Leningrad Symphony,Hungary State Symphony etc...
Michiyoshi Inoue's most recent and daring project began in April 1999 when he conducted a new production of Puccini's "Turandot", a co-production between Bunkamura and the Edinburgh.
In 1998, Michiyoshi Inoue was honored with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres _ Chevalier from the government of France.
