Ayako takagi is now one of the most sought-after flutist of her generation.
Miss Takagi started piano lessons at the age of 3, then flute lessons at the age of eight and studied at Tokyo Natinal University of Fine Arts and Music. Her distinguished talent was highly acclaimed, already when she was high school student as winner of numerous competitions and awards. Among her many awards she has received first prize at the 17th Japan Winds Competition (2000), the first prize at the 70th Japan Music Competition (2001), the fourth prize without first and second prize at Jean-Pierre Rampal International Flute Competition (2001) and the 12th Nippon Steel Music Award. Miss. Takagi plays regularly both in recitals and accompanied by orchestra. She also appeared as soloist at the Japan tour of I Solisti Filarmonici Italiani, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, and Ensemble Archi Della Scala. She is also singled out for the soloist of the Japan tour of St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra in spring 2003.
Ayako Takagi is active for the recording as well as concerts and recitals. She has already released 7 CDs and all of these CDs are highly acclaimed by critics. Her latest CD is "Souvenir d'Italie" and in this CD she performs with I Solisti Filarmonici Italiani.
