Shigenori KUDO, considered to be one of the world's top flutists. He finished his musical education at the Paris National Conservatory, studying with Jean-Pierre Rampal. In 1979 he won his First Prize at the Conservatory and since then he has lived in France.
In 1979 he debuted in Paris with J-P Rampal at the Theatre des Champs-Elysees. In 1984 he toured with the Jean-François Paillard Chamber Orchestra in the United States.
Today his career takes him all over the world, working under the direction of the most prestigious conductors (including Seiji Ozawa, Krzystof Penderecki, F. Leitner, Leonard Slatkinm Horst Stein, J.F. Paillard, and David Shallon).
Shigemori Kudo plays regularly in Europe, in North and South America, in Africa and Asia, both in recitals and accompanied by orchestras: English Chamber Orchestra, Salzbourg Mozarteum Orchestra, , l'Ensemble Intercontemporain, French national orchestras , Saito-Kinen Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra, etc. He participates in the prestigious festivals of Vienna, Hamburg, Florence, New York, Saito Kinen, Mediterranean Festival.
A passionate supporter of French music, Mr. Kudo has made over 50 recordings for SONY, ERATO, and JVC, among others. New CDs to be released from Sony Classical, include works for flute by Toru Takemitsu and the Concerto for Flute by Mozart under the direction if Seiji Ozawa.
