Studied at Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music and, the Paris Conservatoire, where Nagano was awarded the Premier Prix for piano and vocal accompaniment. He also won the Montreal International Competition as well as the Samson Françoise Special Prize for the first International Competition for the Twentieth Century Piano Music. In 1995, he was chosen as the pianist for the world renowned Pierre Boulez's Ensemble Intercontemporain.
His solo recordings include the Twentieth Century French Music on Fontec, George Antheil Piano Works on AGON, Prokofiev/Messiaen/Muraille and Ravel Piano Works on DENON.
He has performed virtuoso repertoire from Classical to Contemporary music and has awarded many prizes for his outstanding achievement. Nagano currently resides in Paris. |
