Profile
 Educated in Sydney, Nakajima began her career winning the first prize in the Australian singing competition, actualized her debuts at the Sydney Opera House and the Victoria State Theatre Melbourne, in Mozart's "La clemenza di Tito" as Servilia in 91. In 92, her European debut at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples as Musetta in "La Boheme" was followed by an award as the best singer by European Radio Union in the title role of Handel's "Alcina" for Innsbruck's Festwochen der Alten Musik. From 92 to 97, she was a resident principal artist at the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck, and later at the Staatsoper Darmstadt till 99, where she performed important roles from the Italian bel canto repertoire which includes Amina in "La sonnambula", Marie in "La Fille du regiment", Adina in "L'elisir d'Amore", Rosina in "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" as well as roles such as Susanna in "Le nozze di Figaro", Sophie in "Der Rosenkavalier", Pamina in "Die Zauberflote", and Gretel in "Hansel und Gretel". Her Darmstadt Lucia turned to be a sensational triumph (nomination as the best singer of the year in Opernwelt). Currently engaged at Vienna Volksoper, she made a debut as Sonja in "Der Zarewitsch" in 99. Her repertoire includes Violetta in "La Traviata", Anne in "Rake's Progress", Norina in "Don Pasquale", Donna Fiorilla in "Il Turco in Italia". She is also an accomplished recital singer and she has worked with numerous distinguished conductors including Maazel and C. Davis.
